A parked car can be an illusion of a confidential and secure environment, yet it is highly responsive to heat, cold and time. Objects stored in them can rot, crack, or stealthily become dangerous. Most of the issues occur without prior notice and are realised subsequently. Electronics break down or break, and paperwork gets lost or spoilt and the objects of everyday life lose their value. Passports, insurance documents and legal papers may fade, get warped or get torn in a car. Heat and humidity will affect the quality of ink and paper. They are also not easily replaceable, and it may be a long, drawn-out exercise to restore them.
Food Items
Some food, whether it is packaged or fresh, may spoil in a car with the windows rolled up.
