The way that office work is done is rapidly changing thanks to artificial intelligence, and one large AI firm claims it’s already a reality in their own offices. Recently, CFO of anthropic Krishna Rao announced that the company now generates approximately 90% of its code using AI tools and also handles most of the finance-related tasks. This change is transforming white-collar jobs from execution to supervision, decision-making and oversight.
AI Now Writes Most of the Company’s Code
The AI system Claude has now written over 90% of Anthropic’s software code, a significant decrease from the manual programming that engineers typically do on a daily basis, Rao said.
Finance Work Is Becoming Heavily Automated
The company also leverages AI to create financial reports and statements, where the role of humans is primarily to review, interpret, and approve the results rather than building reports from scratch.
Tasks That Took Hours Now Take Minutes
Krishna Rao explained that many internal processes that previously required hours of manual work can now be completed in roughly 30 minutes with AI assistance. This means that tasks that took hours now take minutes and hence increase productivity.
White-Collar Roles Are Shifting
Employees are now more likely to be overseeing AI systems, verifying their results, making decisions, and steering strategy rather than executing repetitive tasks. In addition to this, white-collar roles are shifting towards oversight.
AI Is Changing
The company says the AI is a “productivity accelerant” that enables employees to do a lot more in a short amount of time than they ever did before. Companies are improving productivity and efficiency by bringing an AI system into the workplace.

Rao envisioned a future where workers manage “fleets of agents” performing tasks concurrently, with the implication that many workers would become more akin to managers managing AI processes.
